We should start a drinking game for articles bashing Malcolm Gladwell’s “Outliers” and his interpretation of the 10000 hour rule. 1 drink when the authors mention Freakonomics (too easy) or one of the authors is a contributor to Freakonomics. 1 drink when the author clearly has not read any part of that book besides the start of the chapter of the 10000 hour rule. 1 drink when the author uses the same quote from the authors of that supposed original study on the 10000 hour rule. This is easier than a Eurovision drinking game! Gotta love the modern way of doing “journalism”… the worst part is that reputed news outlets have also fallen into that trap.
