Every single time I come back from Marseille, I tell myself that I should really, really move back. But living there is not the same as going back for a week’s holiday, is it? Probably Helsinki is also exciting when you don’t live here.

It also wouldn’t be a proper Christmas/New Year holiday in Marseille if we didn’t go to the figurine mountain. This year people have outdone themselves! Not sure all the representations are really traditional but A+ for creativity.
We started off the year by a walk along the beach – and some of us decided to go for a swim… I was very happy to stay nice and dry!
Two planes and a couple hours of layover resulted in a grant proposal. I’ll know if it got past the second stage tomorrow.
As they say, “y’a plus de saisons, ma p’tite dame!”
It honestly feels like it’s been six months since I was last in the calanques. November was a crazy month.
I post processed the photo and scheduled this post on the 2nd of December and I must admit that I have yet to make this year’s photobook for Christmas. Argh!
Shaved 14 minutes off my Marseille-Cassis PB and didn’t even get rained on!
I tested the new “bike” path that goes to Luminy and I fully understand why many cyclists still use the road – it’s decent enough for running (although the entrance in Luminy is awkwardly placed when coming from the calanques) but not so nice for road cycling training.
The weather (and temperatures) have also been quite wild in Marseille this year – loads of rain right now but very warm back in October, the poor plants didn’t know what was happening, blooming out of season!
I uploaded everything from Jan-Mar 2018 to the 365 Day Project 2018 and I have a feeling that it’s going to be my most boring year so far – very few travels, just hanging around… and I’m actually looking forward to it!
Got that moment of existential ponderings that happen from time to time, humans are weird creatures – we do so many things just for the sake of keeping ourselves occupied.
One day I’ll be back there for longer than a holiday and I’ll be able to hike every weekend!
